Jessica Somers is an Odanak Abenaki artist born in Sudbury, Ontario, and currently residing in Lavigne, Ontario. Her artistic journey has been shaped by the influence of her family, particularly her grandmother, who enjoyed creating scenic and wildlife paintings, and her father, whose dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic continue to inspire her creative practice.

Jessica's artwork is deeply rooted in the knowledge, stories, and teachings passed down through generations. Inspired by the wisdom of Elders within her community and Nation, she creates paintings that reflect Indigenous teachings and the interconnectedness of the natural world.
